Celebrating one of our Best
This year’s Trunk Show wasn’t the only exciting thing happening at Premier Eyecare this past Wednesday. We had an opportunity to celebrate one of our best!
This month Premier Eyecare is honoring one of their longest-standing employees, Diane Brooks. Thirty years ago, it was Dr. Samuel Smart who added Diane to the optical department of Dr. Smart and Dr. Powell’s (now retired) eye care practice. Her hard work and dedication has been making a positive impact from the day she arrived. And that impact goes well beyond being a great team member. She’s served this community with her whole heart. She’s laughed with you, cried with you, and has always been there to help you find the perfect pair of glasses!
We had a chance to catch up with Diane and asked her to share some of her fondest memories and sage wisdom from the past thirty years. Here’s what she had to say…
What do you love most about what you do? Diane: People.
What is one of your favorite memories from over the years? Diane: It’s too hard to choose. But I don’t think you can top watching when a small child sees clearly for the first time!
What made you choose the optical field? Diane: It was all by chance. When I was a junior or senior in high school, I had a job working part-time for a local optician. I realized I really enjoyed it so I decided to stay with it.
When you’re not at Premier Eyecare, what are you doing? Diane: I love to play with my dog, go to the beach and ride my motorcycle.
What is one thing that you’ve learned and would want to share with this next generation? Diane: Find a career you love, because you’re going to spend a lot of time there!
There you have it folks. So the next time you’re in to see us, be sure to congratulate Diane, our master of the optical arts, on her 30 years of top-notch service!
